DIVISION ONE PREVIEW: Relegation four-pointer at New Road
2:00pm Friday 30th March 2012 in Sport
PAUL Clark’s Green Bell side make the short trip to local rivals Bromham (Sunday) knowing that a victory at New Road over the basement side could earn them Division One survival.
A win for Bromham would see them join North Star on six points, so the villagers have everything to play for.
A victory would turn the battle to beat the drop into a three-way fight and with games in hand on both North Star and Bell they could yet escape.
A win for FC Colerne over Bradford Renegades would take Brian Moses' side into fourth spot - and it would take a brave man to bet against the Bath Road club who are unbeaten in their last 12 league outings.
This will be the first time the teams have met this season and it is really hard to see anything other than a victory for the hosts. Leaders Gladstone Arms need every point available to them if they are to have any chance of denying FC Jager the title.
Gladstone will be expecting to pick up maximum points from their meeting with Crown FC (Rowde), who travel to Yatton Keynell having won just one of their last nine games.
Current form suggests that Tom Perkins' side, who have lost five on the bounce, are about to suffer another defeat.
