DIVISION ONE THURSDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: FC Jager bid for top spot
12:30pm Thursday 5th April 2012 in Sport
WITH Division One leaders Gladstone Arms missing out on a game last weekend, if FC Jager can beat Biddestone White Horse in the first of their two meetings in four days, Barry Holloway’s treble-chasing side will take over at the summit.
Biddestone welcome Jager for a Thursday night game at Yatton Road. Biddestone will then wrap up their season on Sunday, again against Jager at The Beeches.
If Biddestone win both games, they would be looking good for third place.
Jager, however, are still fighting for the title and need to win all of their remaining three games to ensure that happens.
Biddestone have been in great form of late though and will provide a massive banana skin for Jager, who will have to be at their best if they are to get the win that they need.
Jager are in rich goalscoring form themselves though and have scored six goals in every one of their last 4 games, winning 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-0.
Striker Dan Moore has also been hitting the net and scored nine of those goals in these four games, so Jager will be looking towards him to help secure a vital win to take into the return match on Sunday. After giving their chances of beating the drop a massive boost at the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Green Bell, Bromham (Sunday) could actually move out of the bottom two if they can beat Bradford Renegades tonight.
It may be a big ask for Dean Rudman’s side who lost the reverse fixture 7-1 just a couple of weeks ago.
But with a new belief Bromham, who are desperate for points in their battle to beat the drop, may just raise their game to pull off an unlikely win.
