WITH Sportzcoach Dragonz United having moved into the automatic promotion place in Division Four after their 5-1 Thursday night win over Trowbridge Town Supporters Club, Andy Rose knew that nothing less than a victory for his Old Road FC side at home to FC United of Chippenham would be good enough for them to take the runners-up up spot in the division ahead of Sportzcoach, thanks to a better goal difference.

SPORTZCOACH Dragonz United boosted their own hopes of finishing the season as Fourth Division runners up and ended the chances of Trowbridge Town Supporters Club who needed to win their remaining two games to have a chance of taking the automatic promotion spot.

TEN-MAN FC United of Chippenham undoubtedly produced the performance of the day by beating Fourth Division title hopefuls Sportzcoach Dragonz United, who saw their promotion hopes derailed by Dudley Philpott’s side, who romped to a stunning 7-0 win.

WITH Stanley Park being shut due to rain on Saturday, the top of the table Division Four clash between leaders FC North Wiltshire and second placed Sportzcoach Dragonz United was moved to Leafy Lane, Corsham.

MELKSHAM Cosmos ended a three-match losing run with a 3-2 win over Trowbridge Rangers (Sunday) who had beaten them 2-0 just a fortnight ago and the victory for Matthew Bowden’s side denied Rangers a third straight victory as they look to pull clear of the bottom of Division Four.

WITH both FC North Wiltshire and Old Road FC in Subsidiary Cup action, Sportzcoach Dragonz United took full advantage of the situation to claim second spot in Division Four after their 4-2 win at Trowbridge Town Supporters Club, for whom it was their first outing on home soil since the middle of November.

WITH their pitch at Stanley Park unplayable, FC United of Chippenham reversed their fixture with leaders FC North Wiltshire to Leafy Lane and as predicted it was North Wilts who took maximum points courtesy of a 7-2 win to maintain their promotion push.

THE fixture at Kington Langley between Oakhill and Pig & Whistle United B may have been the only game in Division Four to have been played but it proved to be a classic as the teams fought out an 11-goal thriller which was won 6-5 by Pig & Whistle.

THE top two sides in Division Four met at Leafy Lane and although leaders FC North Wiltshire didn’t get the victory they longed for over their closest challengers Old Road FC they will be happy with their point from a thrilling 2-2 draw that saw them grab a late equaliser to deny their opponents revenge for their 6-1 loss a month ago.
