DIVISION THREE PREVIEW: Must-win games at top and bottom
3:00pm Friday 6th April 2012 in News
HAVING seen their fellow title challengers Staverton open up a two-point lead at the top of Division Three last weekend, Somerford know exactly what they need to do this Sunday when they travel to Corsham Park Rangers for the first of their two meetings with Tim Spear’s side.
A win for Somerford will take them to 30 points, level with Staverton, but a victory by more than five clear goals would take them top on goal difference.
Somerford should win as Corsham have not won in three, but whether or not they can get the goals required to take them top remains to be seen.
Bremhill View Boys secured their third division status last weekend and it will be their opponents Talbot FC who will be trying to save their skins when the local rivals clash as Priestley Grove, Calne.
Talbot must avoid defeat and hope that North Star B lose their remaining two games.
Talbot will be going all out for victory but as Bremhill lost the reverse match 1-0 they will be out to avenge that loss which should make for a fascinating game.
Another close result is predicted with Bremhill tipped to take the spoils.
Sixth-placed Kings Arms (All Cannings) are scheduled to host North Star B who are battling for their third division survival.
North Star are just above the drop zone but only on goal difference from The Talbot.
This will be the first time the sides have met and the home team are favourites to take the points.
