PREMIER DIVISION THURSDAY NIGHT REPORT: Calne’s winless league run continues

WITH AFC Bell withdrawing from the League there is unlikely to be any relegation from the Premier Division.

But going into their game with fierce local rivals Bug & Spider a struggling AFC Calne would not have been aware of that news.

Despite suffering a 3-0 loss, they may yet be playing top flight football again next term.

Bug & Spider had the better of the first-half chances but were denied the lead as some brave defending and the woodwork kept the score line goalless at the break. The second half was less than a minute old when Bug & Spider took the lead, Mark Smith scoring from the penalty spot.

Five minutes later Aaron Hopkins doubled the hosts lead and Mark Dolman killed Calne of with Bug & Spider’s third midway through the half.

Bug & Spider bossed the game and could have had double figures had their strikers adjusted their eyesight as they hit the woodwork on eight separate occasions.
