CHIPPENHAM Town hope they’ll be feeling warm and fuzzy long into the new season after linking up with Marshfield-based low-carbon heating suppliers Windhager.

Windhager, who specialise in biomass heating systems, will have their logo on the Bluebirds’ home shirts during the upcoming Southern League Premier Division campaign after agreeing to become Chippenham’s new main sponsors.

Vice-chairman John Applegate invited Windhager representatives to the Bluebirds’ 2-0 win over Banbury United in April and the company are looking forward to forming a healthy relationship with the Hardenhuish Park outfit.

“We’re a growing company, we’re locally-based and we want to support local sport, in all its guises,” said Windhager sales director Charlie Lamb.

“John has worked with us for the last four or five years – he introduced us to the club and we thought it was an idea worth supporting.

“Non-league football has raised its profile in the last ten years and we like to think that we can do a little bit to support that.

“We are a heating company but our key market is in rural areas. We support low-carbon heating and if we can get that message across, that would be great.

“We’re going to support it as much as we can and with the support of the club, we’ll donate tickets to the local schools to try and get bums on seats and get the kids off the couch.

“We’d like to encourage growth and success and let’s see Chippenham amongst the mix at the end of the season or maybe have a good FA Cup run.”

Club chairman Neil Blackmore added: “It was quite important for the club, as a community club, to find a local a company to sponsor us.

“We want to support the Chippenham community and the local schools and get youngsters from the local area playing here at Hardenhuish Park.

“Windhager are also focussed on the local community and they’re also environmentally-friendly, which ticks a box for us.

“We have four teams that run from this club now and we’re very pleased to have Windhager on board. I’m looking forward to the relationship and hope that we can move it forward.”
