CHIPPENHAM Town boss Mark Collier will be looking forward to some home comforts as they return to Hardenhuish Park for the first time in five games.

Town are proving to be a difficult team to beat as they extended their run of draws to five games on Monday with a 1-1 draw at Hitchin Town.

However the Bluebirds boss has to juggle with a squad that is riddled with injuries and suspensions.

Defender Matt Coupe and midfielders Jordan Roberts and James Guthrie all miss this weekend’s tie through suspension and Collier is also without Luke Ballinger, who is away on international Futsal duty, and Conor McCormack and Ryan Campbell through injury.

The unbeaten run may seem impressive on the outside but, having gone a month without tasting victory, Collier is hoping that the familiar surroundings of a home match with St Neots Town on Saturday will help convert those draws into three points.

“If you are looking for unbeaten runs then we are on a very good one,” said Collier.

“Obviously though we would have liked to have turned a few of those draws into wins.

“Our philosophy has always been if you can’t win the game then take the point from it.

“We are proving very difficult to beat and we are moving in the right direction.

“At all my clubs I have wanted to play expansive football but sometimes you have to make sure you are doing the basics right at the back.

“We have a few injuries and suspensions at the moment which obviously makes things a lot more difficult because we have not had a settled team for a while.

“It gives some of the more fringe players a chance to impress and gives me a chance to look at some of the options we have.

“We have a couple of walking wounded who we will be trying to get ready for the weekend’s game with St Neots.

“We are looking forward to being back at Hardenhuish Park, it feels like a long time since we played at home.”
