VETERAN midfielder Iain Harvey will bid farewell to the Hardenhuish Park club this week, it was announced this afternoon.

The Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side announced that the 38 year old, who first joined them in 2005, would be ending his association with them at the end of this week.

A club statement read: "It is with much sadness that I have to announce Iain Harvey will be leaving the club at the end of this week.

"With a young family and work commitments, Iain has found it increasingly difficult of late to give the time and commitment required for Southern League Premiership Football.

"Iain has been a fantastic, loyal, servant to the club for many years and I know he will be missed by all who know him.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Iain on behalf of the board and club for all his hard work and to wish him and his family all the very best for the future and to say they will always be welcome at Hardenhuish Park.

"Iain and family will be at our Boxing Day game (Hungerford at Hardenhuish Park) and I would ask that as many of you as possible turn out to wish Iain well.''

Combative midfielder Harvey was honoured for his lengthy service to Chippenham with a testimonial dinner last summer, with former Swindon Town and Liverpool man Neil Ruddock appearing as guest speaker.
