CHIPPENHAM Town enjoyed a good work-out at Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West side Didcot Town, with all the goals coming in the second half.

The first chance of the match fell to the Bluebirds' Alan Griffin who shot wide on 12 minutes and three minutes later he headed a Ryan Campbell cross wide.

On 16 minutes Conor McCormack latched on to a loose ball around the halfway mark and drove forward before unleashing a drive that was just too high.

Didcot's best chance of the half fell to Ryan Brookes who saw his fierce drive parried by Kent Kauppinen.

Before the interval further chances came and went to Matt Jones, Griffin and Chris Allen, whose free kick was deflected wide.

Chippenham opened the scoring on 56 minutes when three of seven second-half substitutes combined.

Dave Pratt did well out wide before finding Alex Ferguson, who crossed for Andy Sandell to tap home.

Matt Smith then dragged his shot wide whilst at the other end Kent Kauppinen held onto Sam Elkins's free kick and Harry Beer dithered a yard out allowing Chippenham's new signing Miles John to intervene.

Pratt doubled the lead on 69 minutes when he latched onto a long pass and ran on to slip the ball past Lee Bedwell.

Six minutes later Ferguson was upended in the box and Sandell converted the resultant penalty.

On 77 minutes James Guthrie's raking cross found Pratt, who lobbed the ball back across goal for Sandell to head home.

Pratt then saw his shot charged down before player-manager Andy Ballard scored a last-minute consolation for Didcot when Adam Leroy headed a free kick back across goal for him to head home.
