MARK Collier has bolstered his Chippenham Town squad by bringing in the man that succeeded him at the helm of Swindon Supermarine.

After helping Hungerford Town win promotion to the National League South via the Southern League Premier Division play-offs last term, Gary Hogan called time on his playing career.

However, Collier has coaxed the 39-year-old defender out of retirement and Horgan has returned to Hardenhuish Park, where he spent almost three seasons between 2002 and 2005.

When Chippenham chief Collier left Marine in January 2011, Horgan, alongside Matt Robinson, took joint-caretaker charge of the Swindon side for the remainder of that season but will be back playing under his former colleague when the Bluebirds host Poole Town in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup tomorrow.

“I am fully aware of the experience and quality Gary brings to us,” said Collier.

“He can play in various positions and has a great knowledge of this division.

“With injuries and player movement, I felt an addition to the squad was paramount.

“His registration has been approved and he will be in tomorrow's matchday squad."
