CHIPPENHAM Town moved comfortably into the second round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup with victory over Wroughton last night.

However, after conceding twice in the opening five minutes, Wiltshire Senior League visitors Wroughton could claim a moral victory as they restricted the home side to another three goals in the remaining 85 minutes at Hardenhuish Park.

Mark Collier made five changes from Saturday's league victory at Ketting Town, most notably Michael Pook making a return in midfield after injury.

David Pratt was instrumental in all three of Chippenham's first-half goals, with Wroughton's Ollie While turning his second-minute cross into his own net.

Two minutes later, Pratt latched on to a through ball and steered a shot past Eddie Salsbury.

Alan Griffin then saw a headed effort ruled out for offside, whilst Salsbury turned a James Guthrie effort around a post.

Chippenham hit their third on 24 minutes when Pratt headed a cross back across goal for Griffin to hook home from close range.

After the break, Wroughton put nine men behind the ball as they packed their defence.

They even fashioned two chances of their own as Aaron Maximen headed over and Chris Balfe saw his shot deflected behind.

The visitors kept the Bluebirds at bay until 11 minutes from time when substitute Andy Sandell hit the goal of the night when he fired home from 30 yards.

Griffin and Ryan Campbell were then both off target until Guthrie wrapped the scoring up three minutes from time when he shot home on the rebound after Salsbury had blocked his initial shot.
