CHIPPENHAM Town have bolstered their offensive options by re-signing winger Joe McClennan.

The 25-year-old spent 15 months with the Bluebirds before departing to join National League South Weston-super-Mare in June 2014 but after leaving the Seagulls earlier this month, McClennan has returned to Hardenhuish Park.

McClennan, who had spells with the likes of Bridgwater Town, Hungerford Town and Yate Town before his first spell with Chippenham, could feature when the Bluebirds host Kings Langley in the Southern League Premier Division tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Manager Mark Collier said: “Joe is a top-quality signing and will go straight into tomorrow's squad.

“Joe left us to play Conference South football with Weston-super-Mare. He has gained two years’ experience to go with his untold talent and most importantly, he wanted to join us.

"Joe was a wanted player, so I am very pleased to welcome him to the club.”

Chippenham, who beat King’s Lynn Town 2-1 last Saturday, are currently third in the table, a point behind second-placed Hitchin Town and four points off leaders Leamington.
