CHIPPENHAM Town have announced the loan signing of 20-year-old forward Jake Andrews from Bristol City.
The youngster has signed a one-month loan deal at Hardenhuish Park and will go straight into the Bluebirds’ matchday squad for tomorrow’s clash with Kettering Town.
Andrews had been an influential part of City’s U23 squad and also enjoyed a successful loan spell Guernsey, where he scored eight goals in as many games earlier in the season.
Chippenham boss Mark Collier is delighted with his latest recruit.
"I would like to thank Brian Tinnion (Bristol City academy director of recruitment) for helping get this deal over the line,” said the Bluebirds manager.
“Brian attended the game on Tuesday against Chesham and rates Jake highly, and had no hesitation in allowing the one-month loan.”
Andrews will be a welcome addition to Chippenham’s attacking options after in-form Andy Sandell was handed a two-match suspension when he picked up his 10th caution of the season in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Chesham United.
Captain and central defender Greg Tindle is also suspended for the Bluebirds’ next two games.
