CHIPPENHAM Town have made a fourth summer signing ahead of their maiden National League season, bringing in attacking midfielder Scott Donnelly.

The 29-year-old spent last season at Farnborough Town, helping them win promotion to the Southern League Premier Division from Division One Central.

Donnelly’s arrival at Hardenhuish Park follows manager Mark Collier’s recruitment of Weymouth trio Dean Evans, Mark Cooper and Jason Matthews earlier this summer.

Collier said: “Scott joins us with a wealth of experience and will add a real quality to the squad. Scott had numerous options but he was impressed with the club’s vision and ambition.”

Donnelly began his career at Championship side Queens Park Rangers, coming through the ranks at Loftus Road before making his debut in the Football League as a 16-year-old on 2004.

In total, he made 14 first-team appearances for the Hoops before leaving the club in 2007.

Donnelly has also had spells at Aldershot Town, Swansea City, Wycombe Wanders, Southend United, Havant & Waterlooville and Margate before joining his hometown club Farnborough last term.

Chippenham begin life in the National League South when they welcome Havant to Hardenhuish Park on Saturday, August 5.
