The only match to survive the elements in Division Two was the
one at Poulton, Bradford on Avon between Pete Collier's FC Bradford side and
Steve Mallard's Audley FC outfit.
The match, which was originally set for Stanley Park was switched at the
11th hour and both sides and match referee Julian Sattin deserve full praise
for getting it played.
FC Bradford extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a
comprehensive 13-3 victory that left the Audley still looking for their
first win since they beat Chippenham Police 5-0 back in November - a run of
eight matches that has seen them pick up just one point from a possible 16.
Sam Jordan started the scoring for FC Bradford and he went on to score
another three goals to take his tally for the game to four. But he was
out-scored by Mark Robinson, who bagged a double hat-trick. He scored five
goals in the first 45 minutes and he sealed his half dozen with great effort
in the second period.
Craig Bennett, Kieran Powell and Lee Moran shared the other, with Moran's
being the first ever goal he has scored for the club in the five seasons
that he has been with them.
Moran scored from the penalty spot, which might seem no big deal but in the
past he had been given the chance to open his account for the side but on
three previous occasions he has failed to hit the target from 12 yards.

Pole sitters Cooper-Avon were due to host The Horse and Groom at The
Conigre, Melksham, but once they leant that the pitch would be unplayable
they made every attempt to reverse it to Leighton Sports Ground, Westbury,
but as the pitch had been used on the Saturday afternoon it was unfit to
take a second game over the weekend.
Second-placed Hullavington were hoping to set a new club record of eight
consecutive victories when they faced Sutton Benger at Stanley Park, but the
game went the same way as the other scheduled for the Chippenham-based
sports complex and left Hullavington with a harder task of achieving their
goal this Sunday when they travel to FC Bradford.
Crown Cosmos, who are in third spot, were all set to face Chippenham police
at the police headquarters in Devizes, in what would have been the last ever
match that the boys in blue would have played on the pitch that has been
their home for over 20 years.
The sports ground which includes the football pitch and the tennis courts
has been sold to allow a road to be built and the police were hoping that
they would be able to get their last home match played before construction
work starts imminently.
With the bulldozers due to plough up the ground in the near future, they
were hopeful that they would have been able to say goodbye to their base
with a surprise win over the Crown, but they will now have to hope that they
will still have the chance to play their final match at the headquarters.
Other games off were the ones at Sands Lane, Rowde, where Mark Roberts,
manager of The Crown Devizes, had a full strength side available to host
Bremhill View Social Club and the game at Awdry Avenue, Melksham, where Pig
and Whistle United were set to entertain White Hart Combe.
