Only two matches were played in Division Three, leaders
Biddestone White Horse and third placed AFC Melksham without a game and
second placed Pheasant FC missing out due to opponents Corsham Park Rangers
being unable to raise a team.
AFC Bell 8, Churchill Arms 1
AFC BELL stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches as they defeated
neighbours Churchill Arms 8-1.
Oliver Hickton's West Lavington-based Churchill Arms were no match for their
Devizes-based opponents who scored four goals in each half to record their
emphatic victory.
Gareth Evans scored Bell's opener and Craig Townsend made it 2-0 before a
second from player-manager Townsend made it 3-0. Bell's fourth came from
Gareth Evans.
Townsend completed his hat-trick with the opening goal of the second half
that took his goal tally for the season to 37.
Jonathan Couch added goal number six before Nathan Moffat scored his first
goal for the club with a 30 yard thunderbolt. Josh Shepperd scored
Churchill's consolation prior to Paul Machin completing the scoring for the
Bell with his first goal for the club and like Moffat's it was a little bit
special. After beating two players he drilled home a beauty from 18 yards to
put the icing on what was a great win for the Green Lane side.

Blue Circle (Sunday) 4, Pack Horse Rangers 1
IT might not have been a surprise that Blue Circle beat Pack Horse Rangers,
but what was a surprise is that they achieved their 4-1 victory on their own
patch at the cement works in Westbury.
After the overnight soaking that the pitch would have received it was a
credit to both teams and match referee John Trueman that the game went
ahead.
The match was over as a contest within the first 15 minutes as Steve
Martin's Blue Circle side built up a three goal lead. Scott Howse scored his
first goal for the cement boys to put them in front on seven minutes, two
minutes later Martin Hemmens doubled the lead and on 15 minutes a second
from Scott Howse gave Blue Circle a commanding 3-0 lead.
Pack Horse did a little better in the second period and Craig Dore pulled a
goal back on 75 minutes but it proved only to be a consolation as a penalty
from Scott Howse five minutes from time saw him complete his hat-trick and
earn the victors back-to-back victories for the first time since September.
More importantly, the two points takes their tally to 13 and that should be
enough to keep them in the division for another season at least.
Westbury Rangers B were due to host The Crown FC and the visitors travelled
all the way from Devizes only to be given the news that the Meadow Lane
pitch was unplayable.
