DEFENDING Premier Division champions Corsham Centre A entertain FC Colerne
tonight at Meriton Avenue, but the visitors to Corsham don't know how many
players they will have available for their penultimate game of the season
and neither do the hosts, who will be missing Ben Moore, Nick Gingell and a
few other players from Sunday's team that beat Semington Rovers 4-1.
The Centre, who beat their guests 2-0 at the end of March thanks to goals
from Liam Ralph and Ben Moore, began a busy week of fixtures with a win over
Semington on Sunday.
They are in action tonight, again on Thursday night and on Sunday and they
must result win them all if they are to have a chance of retaining the title
for a third successive season.
Since Colerne loss to the Centre they have played three more games and have
lost all of them but more worryingly for manager Eric Randall, is that they
have failed to score in any of those matches.
The Centre ought to claim victory but they won't be taking anything for
granted as they know that if Colerne can get anywhere near a half decent
side for the game they could cause them a few problems.
The Centre's front line might not have been firing on all cylinders this
term, but tonight will give them the chance to get back to scoring ways
ahead of what promises to be an anxious final stretch of a season that has
been one of the best the league have experienced for many years.

There is a lot more football to play before the season reaches its climax
and although the Centre are tipped to claim a resounding victory tonight
they will be happy to accept any sort of win just as long as they get the
better of Colerne and chalk up another two points.
North Bradley v Rowde
ROWDE, who are as good as resigned to finishing in third spot in Division
One behind both Potterne FC and The Ship, have one final opportunity tonight
to keep alive their chance of nicking the runners-up spot.
The villagers, who have been inconsistent over the last six weeks which has
seen them slip from promotion hopefuls to the nearly men as they have
squandered numerous chances to nick the silverware from the hands of
Potterne, who must be looking over their shoulder with a wide grin every
time Rowde blow another game and drop more points.
Rowde visit North Bradley and need to beat their hosts by at least double
figures if they are to have any chance of overtaking Potterne.
If they can collect maximum points from a match that on paper they should
win comfortably, and Potterne fail to take a point from their remaining two
games, then they could leapfrog them with a better goal difference.
Damon Berrelly and Tim Richards's Bradley side will host a Rowde team who
won just three of their last seven matches and in that time they have
suffered defeats against Foresters Arms and Atworth United as well as
drawing against Biddestone Arms and British Lion. But they go into the game
on the back of a 3-3 draw with leaders the Ship and if Jamie Mullings is on
fire again then anything is possible.
Bradley have won just once in nine games and having already lost to Rowde
5-2, courtesy of doubles from Jamie Mullens and Marcus Wallen and a single
from Sam Weller, they will be expecting the worst, but if Bradley can put
their minds to it then they could cause a shock.
Rowde will be favourites to take maximum points and if they can score the
goals it will put the pressure back on Potterne to produce the goods against
British Lion and the Ship, which won't be easy, but even if they win their
efforts might count for nothing and they will be left wondering what might
have been had they not dropped stupid points.
