DIVISION FOUR: Just 24 hours after they failed to raise a team to face Chippenham United RAOB, North Star B finally got the game played today, which will be a great relief to champions-elect Steeple Ashton Rangers, whose title celebrations can now begin.
The Star will now complete their campaign at the weekend when they face Corsham United and the threat of them withdrawing at such a late stage has disappeared.
Gary Elliott, who is normally in charge of North Star A, took temporary charge of the B team and he helped the Calne-based side collect their first victory in six games as they claimed a surprise 4-1 victory over United, who switched the game from Stanley Park to Priestley Grove to get it played.

Both Tina Barnes, secretary of North Star, and Steve Shipway, from United, are to be commended for their efforts in staging the match at short notice as is referee Steve Higgins, who should have officiated the postponed game yesterday but gave up his Bank Holiday to make sure it was played today.
North Star took the lead through scoring sensation Dan Allison who bagged his 21st goal of the season.
Steve Shipway's eighth goal of the campaign for United brought the scores level before the break but the second period was dominated by North Star who played the final 30 minutes with an extra player after United lost Carl Stammers through injury.
Mark Sharratt regained the lead for the home team and Andy Dolman added a third before Shane Minnis sealed the win with goal number four.
The Star are likely to see Elliott take charge of final match against Corsham United and with a new manager lined up for next season, he could leave them in a good position after a nervy few weeks that almost saw them call it a day on more than one occasion.
