Having clinched the Fourth Division title last Sunday with a
2-1 success over Three Crowns United, Steeple Ashton Rangers will travel to
Bratton in a party mood for their game against Trowbridge Town Supporters'
Club.
Steeple Ashton manager Nathan Holloway could be in two minds as to whether
or not to go for a 17th straight victory or to shuffle his pack and let his
team enjoy the moment as they know that whatever the outcome of the game the
championship is theirs.
Steeple Ashton may wish to go up in a blaze of glory but they will be given
a stern test by Kevin Williams's supporters' club side who have not won in
three games. If they end Ashton's winning run with a victory it would see
them finish the season in third place and a draw would mean that they would
also finish in third spot level on 27 points with Three Crowns United.
Steeple Ashton, who have not lost since the end of October when they
suffered a shock 4-2 defeat against Kings Arms (Market Lavington), will
start the game as favourites, but if both teams play to their true potential
then the game has the makings of being a classic and could even end up with
the points being shared for a second time.
When the sides met on the opening day of the season the scoreline was 2-2,
with Jack Holdway netting both goals for Steeple Ashton and Chris Rawlings
and Simon Hussey replying for the supporters' club who came from 2-0 down to
earn their point.
Both teams have moved in an upward direction since day one.

Nathan Holloway's Steeple Ashton side are tipped to take the points by a
narrow margin, but if they have an off day, then they will pay the price,
especially if Nigel and Chris Penelhum, who have been great additions to the
supporters' club, have their scoring boots on.
North Star B v Chippenham United RAOB
HAVING beaten Chippenham United RAOB 4-1 on Bank Holiday Monday, North Star
B will be hoping that they can sign off with back-to-back victories.
The Star welcome Corsham United to Priestley Grove and although Paul
Wheeler's side haven't kicked a ball for three weeks since they beat Corsham
Centre B 3-1 they will be confident that they can wrap up a league double
over their hosts who they beat 4-2 in November when Joe Pritchard, Tony
Druitt and Dominic Reid's double helped them to a 4-2 success. Luke Clements
and Andy Dolman were on target for the Star.
North Star's first team manager Gary Elliott will again be at the helm and
if he can weave his magic once more then he has a very good chance of
finishing the season with a victory even if his own team have just suffered
relegation from the top flight.
Elliott is determined to help his reserve team see out the season which is
now a good bet and they have a very good chance of picking up what would be
only their seventh win of the campaign that started off so well as they went
through September unbeaten before things started to go wrong.
The same could be said of their opponents Corsham United, who topped the
table in November before the winter blues set in and they won just another
four games from 15 outings that led to them plummeting down the rankings to
seventh spot. But should they beat the Star they will finish in sixth place
which would be a great improvement on last term when they finished second
from bottom with just 10 points which they have more than doubled in their
second season on the league. But at the same time they will be wondering
what they could have done with a little more consistency.
If the Star can field 11 players a home win is anticipated.
