CHIPPENHAM-based Audley FC held their presentation evening on Saturday
night, with Chris Shipway, Chris Yeo and Chris Simpkins cleaning up on the
night.
Yeo collected two awards. The striker was Steve Mallard's choice as his
manager's player of the season and he also claimed the golden boot award.
Yeo bagged 18 goals for the Audley which included two hat-tricks, against
Sutton Benger and The Crown Devizes and unbelievably he ended up on the
losing side in both matches as Benger won 8-6 and The Crown claimed a 6-3
success.
Yeo beat last season's top scorer Dave Nolan into second spot by seven
goals.
Chris Simpkins' outstanding contributions to the Audley last season saw him
rewarded with the clubman of the season award. Simpkins was Mr Versatile
last term and played in almost every position on the park and never
complained no matter where manager Mallard asked him to play.
Right back Chris Shipway played through the pain barrier on numerous
occasions last term as the Audley at times struggled to field a team. With
one injury after another Shipway was told at one stage of the season to have
a complete rest from football, but couldn't stay away and often stepped in
to fill a void and it was no surprise that his fellow players selected him
as their choice as their player of the season.

Shipway may prefer to play in defence but goals against Chippenham Police
and FC Bradford saw him double last season's tally of goals scored and the
goal he netted against the latter in March of this year was the first he had
scored since April 2006.
