FROME Town have announced the signing of former Swindon Town defender Aaron Oakley.

The tall 19-year-old centre-half was released by League One Swindon in the summer and after trialling for Colchester United during pre-season, Oakley has linked up with Adrian Foster's Robins in search of regular football as he looks to return to a higher level.

Oakley, who earned a Wales U21 cap in February 2013, is no stranger to the Southern League Premier Division after spending a number of months on loan at Chippenham Town last season.

The defender joins former Swindon team-mate Mark Francis, who has netted three goals so far this campaign for Foster's men, at Badgers Hill.

Frome go looking to get back to winning ways as they travel to Redditch United tomorrow and Poole Town on Bank Holiday Monday (kick-off 3pm).
