CORSHAM Town boss Trevor Rawlings was delighted to see his high-flying side bounce back to winning ways with victory over Portishead Town last weekend.

Rawlings’ men, who slipped to their first league defeat of the season as they went down 2-1 at Welton Rovers last week, were back on form on Saturday as they comfortably disposed of Portishead Town.

Levi Cox netted twice, with his first coming from the penalty spot, whilst youngster Lewis McCarron netted his first goal for Corsham.

Danny Baker was also on target as he curled in a free-kick.

“It was really important for us to get back to winning ways after we had our first loss last week,” said Corsham chief Rawlings.

“We’ve got some big games coming up and we really needed to make sure that we got back on track as soon as we could.

“It could have been a lot more than it was .Their goalkeeper was man of the match because he made three or four great saves.

“We had a lot of chances but it was still good to score a few goals and get a pretty good win.”
