BRADFORD Town boss Paul Shanley praised his players for the impressive start to the season as he picked up his first-ever manager of the month award in the Toolstation League Premier Division.
The Trowbridge Road boss was handed the division’s managerial accolade for August, with Bradford dramatically notching up their fourth league win of the season on Tuesday night, despite having defenders Josh Brigham and Craig Gingell sent off for two bookings apiece.
Gingell, Jack Hopper, Sam Jordan and Mark Wall all scored as Shanley’s side withstood a late onslaught to win 4-3 at Bitton.
On Saturday, Bradford became the first side to take points off Willand Rovers this season, with Wall netting in a 1-1 draw.
“It’s all been down to the players - they’ve been fantastic,” said Shanley.
”We’ve done well in the league and the cups, and our only bad result has been in the Brislington game (a 2-1 loss on the opening day of the season)."
