WARMINSTER Town joint-manager Derek Graham thinks that his side looked revitalised during their clash with Almondsbury UWE last weekend and could have easily taken much more than a point.

Graham and Andy Crabtree’s men were held to a goalless draw at Weymouth Street but hit the bar three times in the first period, with Sam Babatunde and Tom Golledge striking the woodwork with headers whilst Otis Young also rattled the frame of the goal with a strike from the edge of the area.

Both goalkeepers were also forced into a number of saves at either end and joint-chief Graham thought that Warminster put on a show for their home fans, even if they couldn’t find a breakthrough.

“This was not your usual boring 0-0 draw,” said Graham.

“We hit the bar three times in the first half, with Sam’s hitting the underside of the bar and bouncing out, and their goalie, Matthew Semple, made full-length saves from Otis and two from Jack Miluk.

“Carl Crabtree made two wonderful saves on our goal and you can see what a great game it was.

“It was end-to-end and we played some amazing football, the likes of which hasn’t been seen at Weymouth Street for many a year.

“We had a difficult decision to make earlier in the week because Henry McFerran, Charlie Walton and George Butler were all selected for the Wiltshire U18s squad. We could have postponed the game because of their selection but we didn't want to stop the momentum of our recent improvement.”

Warminster’s Witshire U18 youngsters all return for this weekend's rearranged home clash with Wells City, handing Graham and Crabtree some welcome selection headaches.
