TREVOR Rawlings thought that his Corsham Town side ‘outplayed’ Toolstation League First Division league leaders Wincanton Town last weekend.

Jack Mitchell’s goal from a Lee Gale cross ensured that Corsham suffered a 1-0 defeat on their trip to Somerset but the Southbank chief was certain that his side’s efforts deserved more.

“I thought that we should have come away with at least a point and probably all three – we outplayed them all game,” said Rawlings.

“We were on top for the first half an hour and with their first attack of the game, they’ve scored. They’d probably say that they were on top for the last ten minutes of the first half but in the second half, we came out and started right back where we’d left off.

“I think we missed having Levi (Cox) up front. Matt Jenkins played there but he usually plays in midfield. Maybe we need to look to get another striker in for when he’s not there?”
