MELKSHAM Town A remain in the driving seat in Division Three, after an 8-0 victory for Barry Holloway’s side at FC Trowbridge earned them a sixth win of the campaign which keeps them two points clear of rivals FC Box Steam Brewery.

Nick Ridout, who scored a first-half treble, led the scoring with four, Dan Moore scoring twice and a goal each for Jordan Kirk and Tom Jones making up the eight.

A fourth win of the season for Aces FC has taken the Bath-based side into third place in the table.

Their latest success which came after defeats against Potterne and Melksham Town A saw them beat Bratton 5-0.

Two headed goals and a stunning left-footed volley from Tom Pang, Steve Tuke and Mike Little’s goals made up the nap hand.

A 5-0 triumph for FC Box Steam Brewery at home to The Stiffs saw them stretch their unbeaten league and domestic cup run to six matches.

Phil Webb’s side may have dropped four points from their opening two games, but since the arrival of Jason Povey, who has so far linked up well with fellow strike partner Reuben Spong, there has been no looking back and they have climbed up to second spot.

Povey (three), Duncan Frew and Jason Hughes scored the goals.
