BEN Hogg’s second-placed Holt FC side took full advantage of leaders Westbury Town’s inactivity and closed to within three points of the pacesetters thanks to a 6-1 victory at Trowbridge Rangers.

Zack Manna was again the star of the show for Holt, scoring a five-timer to take his tally for the season to 24, Fynn McCarthy-Driver adding the other while Jack Herbert was on target for Rangers.

Since beating Heytesbury at the start of September, Bradford United Reserves have lost 12 on the bounce, their latest defeat coming at home to Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves who won 5-1 to extend their winning run over their opponents to four matches.

Will Browning put Wanderers ahead inside 30 seconds. Craig Brown with two, Mike Ritson with an excellent lob and Dave Sykes sealed the win over a Bradford side who had substitute Elliott Hinton sent off just ten minutes after coming on.

Jack Bristow, who also had a penalty saved by Wanderers keeper Tom Bartlett, replied for Bradford.

Following their first loss in 11 outings last weekend when they were beaten by leaders Westbury Town, Heytesbury faced another potential banana skin to their promotion hopes when they travelled to Worton & Cheverell.

But for Kieron Edwards’ visitors to the Lye they saw a return to form, picking up maximum points thanks to a 4-0 win. Declan Griffiths, Sam Sweetman, Matthew Hyde and Bradley Edwards scoring.
