JACK Hopper struck four minutes from time to rescue a point for Bradford Town when they hosted Street on Saturday.

Paul Shanley’s side were in contol for large periods of the contest but failed to make the most of their chance and found themselves behind after 70 minutes when Mark Salter capitalised on an error at the back.

But Town responded in impressive fashion and finally got some reward for their efforts when Hopper beat the visiting keeper with a superb 30-yard strike.

“We asked for a reaction from the midweek defeat at home to Bishop Sutton. We got that and it’s just a shame we didn’t get the result as well,” said Shanley.

“We dominated for large parts of the game but unfortunately let them get in front because of a sloppy piece of play.

“We should have been two or three up at half-time as we had two cleared off the line and several other chances as well.

“You start to think it just isn’t going to be your day and when you let one in after playing so well it can e tough to come back from that as it leaves you deflated.

“But the players came back really well and we were finally able to get a goal right at the end.”

Bradford now take a break from league action and face an FA Vase third round tie at home to Odd Down on Saturday.
