THE only Division Two fixture that beat Saturday’s early-morning downpour was the game between village sides Holt and Worton & Cheverell.
It was the former who took the spoils courtesy of a 4-0 win that saw Ben Hogg’s side extend their winning run to nine matches and, in doing so, it enabled them to close the gap on leaders Westbury Town to one point with three games in hand on their rivals.
Robbie Cunningham, making his first start for Holt, gave them the lead before top scorer Zack Manna double the hosts' lead with his 28th goal in all competitions.
Mitchell Hamber made it 3-0 in the second period before Adam Potter wrapped another three points for Hogg’s side with his second goal of the campaign.
