AFTER suffering defeat in two of their last three league outings, Division Two outfit Holt would not have been looking forward to their Briken Motors & AM Print & Copy-sponsored A&B Cup semi-final clash with first division North Bradley, who had an excellent win over rivals Bradford United last weekend.
Bradley’s manager Ben Howe had been wary of a cup shock and his concerns were founded as Ben Hogg’s Holt side upset the form book with a 3-1 win that booked them a cup final spot with either FC Box Steam Brewery or Freshford United.
Bradley were caught cold in the opening five minutes and a stunning 25 yard drive from Zack Manna saw Holt take the lead.
Bradley quickly regrouped and they played some fine football and deservedly got back on level terms through Ali Bradley whose great finish made it 1-1 at the break.
Zack Manna regained the lead for Holt and although Bradley were good in patches but they were unable to grab an equaliser and with a minute remaining Josh Ferguson netted to wrap up a 3-1 win for Holt, which will give them a massive boost ahead of their meeting with first division leaders Westbury Town next weekend.
Referee Neil Hawker had an excellent game in the middle.
