BRADFORD United bounced back from their defeat at the hands of North Bradley last weekend with a 7-2 victory away at Semington Magpies that puts them four points clear at the top of the Trowbridge Windows & Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge & District League Division One table.
Bradford led on five minutes, Phil Little heading in an Ian Groves cross to make it 1-0.
Groves was upended in the area and the resulting penalty was fired home by Theo Sing for 2-0. Semington missed a golden opportunity to half the deficit and Bradford’s stand-in keeper Mark Williams produced a couple of fine stops to preserve the 2-0 scoreline before Richie Bliha lashed home a beauty which flew in off the post to make it 3-0.
If Bradford started the first half at full pace they were slow to get going in the second half and they paid for their sluggish start as Nigel Hall pulled a goal back for Magpies.
Bradford steadied the ship and got their act together with Ian Groves restoring their three-goal cushion.
Substitute Dan Jones scored number five and a second penalty from Sing, again after a foul on Groves took it to 6-1.
Sam Malone scored a second for Magpies but it was nothing more than a consolation as with almost the last kick of the game Theo Sing found the net to score his third and Bradford’s seventh on the afternoon.
