MATT Mead struck a stoppage time winner to help Westbury United see of Portishead Town 2-1.
The result continues United’s recent revival and means they have picked up seven of the last available nine points in the league.
That form has helped ease their worries at the bottom of the table and there are now three teams below them.
It was actually Portishead who struck first at Meadow Lane as Joe Ellis found the net with just six minutes on the clock.
Westbury rallied and ensured they headed into half-time level when Brett Partner’s corner found the unmarked Nathan Hallett-Young, who powered a header into the net.
Chances came at both ends in the second half but it took until time added on for one of them to count.
Having been fortunate to keep the score at 1-1, United went all out for a winner and play became stretched. That allowed Mead to latch onto Sam Clift’s through ball and fire in off the post to snatch the points for Westbury.
