WARMINSTER Town joint-boss Derek Graham was delighted to see his side’s wait for a win in 2015 finally come to an end on Tuesday night.
The Weymouth Street men had yet to taste victory this year but put the record straight with an impressive 2-1 win at Hengrove Athletic.
Midfielder Alex Lapham netted both of the visitors’ goals and came close to netting a hat-trick but saw a second half effort cleared off the line.
“We have played well but we hadn’t won this year, so it’s been a long time coming,” said Graham.
“We played Alex Lapham in the number ten role and he gave them all sorts of problems - it was a great result.”
Warminster were thrashed 4-0 at Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday and had Marcus Brown sent off inside ten minutes, his second booking for a handball that led to the home side scoring their second from the penalty spot.
