BRADFORD Town boss Paul Shanley reckons his side were good enough to come back with a win from their trip to Slimbridge.

Town fell behind in the first half but rallied brilliantly after the break and Sam Jordan’s fine strike ten minutes from time haulted them level.

They then had further chances to snatch the victory but in the end had to settle for a point.

Shanley said: “We were a little bit disappointed we didn’t take all three points by the end as we dominated the second half.

“The conditions were really difficult for both teams. We defended really well against the wind in the first half, although the goal we conceded was disappointing.

“With the wind behind us after the break we were much the better team and deserved to win the game.

“Sam got the equaliser and we did have chances to win it, and their keeper made one really good save from Neikell Plummer to tip his effort onto the bar.

“I think by the end we just ran out of time and ran out of ideas but it’s a point away at Slimbridge, which is a tricky place to go, so we’ve got to be satisified with that.”

Bradford have two games over the Easter weekend, starting at home to league leaders and local rivals Melksham Town on Good Friday. They then travel to Shepton Mallet on Easter Monday.

His team may have already beaten Melksham twice this season but Shanley admits Bradford will be up against it at Trowbridge Road this time around.

“It’s a bust schedule just like everyone has got, and it’s a tough one for us as well.

“Melksham will want to win the game to help their title shot and they’ve shown their intentions by signing Ricky Hulbert and Luke Ballinger.

“You have to say fair play to them as they’ve got a tough run but they’ve coped with it really well, so we know it’s going to be difficult and we’ve got a few injuries as well.

“We’ve beaten them already in the league and the FA Vase so we know what’s coming and what we are capable of.”
