Tuesday evening saw the league phase of the CDP Supply - sponsored Centenary Remembrance Cup reach its conclusion as Bradford United and Hilperton United both recorded wins.

Bradford United, who had already secured second spot in the table going into their game with Semington Magpies, signed off with a 5-1 win that sets them up with a home quarter-final against Castle Combe, while Magpies receive a walkover to the semi-finals as their opponents should have been Trowbridge Town Reserves but they withdrew from the competition.

Bradford led after five minutes, with Dan Jones scoring from 12 yards after good work from Theo Sing. Sloppy defending by the Magpies gifted Jones his and Bradford their second on 15 minutes. It was 3-0 ten minutes later, this time Jones set up Sing, and although Sean Meer pulled a goal back for Magpies it was just a consolation as Jones completed his hat-trick before a second of the game from Theo Sing made it 5-1. Hilperton United visited Warminster Town Reserves for their final league fixture in the group stage and the two sides will face each other again in the quarter-finals in a fortnight’s time, but Hilperton will have home advantage on that occasion. After beating their guests 4-0, they will be confident of making it through to the last four.

Jake Samuels gave Hilperton a first-half lead, while Ben Smith, Sean O’Brien, from the penalty spot, and Bradley King-Taylor were also on target.
