WHITE Horse picked up a vital three points away at Calne Eagles to hand their pursuit of promotion a boost.

In a clash of very few chances, Allan Clarke's Horse side claimed a crucial 1-0 win, with Eagles' Calvin Bye seeing his 12-yard shot saved by keeper Paul Beavers in the first half.

Both teams found it hard to create chances but with seven minutes remaining, Horse’s Jack Holdway shot through a crowded box after Calne had only half-cleared a corner.

Holdway’s fierce shot deflected off two Calne defenders before flying into the bottom corner of the goal.

Horse now have to win their last match of the season against relegation-threatened United FC in order to claim the runners-up spot in Division Two.

Holt FC, who still have a Knockout Cup final appearance to look forward to, signed off their title-winning campaign with a 4-1 triumph over United FC at Beversbrook in Calne.

Jed Osborne put Holt ahead and Natti Mills made it 2-0 before Aaron Cockerill added their third with what was undoubtedly Holt’s goal of the season.

The left-back started the move from inside his own six-yard box before finishing off an excellent team move when he fired home at the other end for 3-0.

Shavon Allen pulled a goal back for United before half-time and although they had chances to add to Allen’s effort in the second period, it was left to Holt’s top-scorer Zack Manna to complete the victory when he scored his team's fourth in the final 10 minutes.
