WARMINSTER Town ended their season with a goalless draw at Oldland Abbotonians last weekend.

Derek Graham and Andy Crabtree’s side ended their Toolstation League First Division campaign 15th in the table and earned their final point with a depleted line-up in South Gloucestershire.

And after seeing his team lose just once in their last eight outings, joint-manager Graham is full of optimism for the future.

“We had every confidence we could get at least a draw because the lads are now listening and now know how we set up and expect them to perform - and it turned out to be the case,” he said.

“David Laughton played up front as a lone striker. Even though he’s not fully-fit, he showed how much he cares about his new club. Unfortunately, he only lasted five minutes before having to be substituted.

“This was an important result for us as it meant it was our only defeat in the last eight games, and the one blemish was the loss to the champions (Barnstaple Town).

“Hopefully we can keep the majority of the squad next season, and with a few additions, who knows what we can achieve?”
