THE Wiltshire Football League will kick off with 16 reams next season

Less than a month before the end of last term, 2013-2014 runners-up Supermarine Sports folded and that season’s champions Southbrook, who finished eighth in the table last season, have now followed suit.

The league, which will be known as the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League, will kick off with 16 teams on Saturday, August 15, with last season’s winners Malmesbury Victoria, who opted against promotion, aiming to defend their title.

Wootton Bassett Town Reserves have moved from the Hellenic League Division Two West to replace their Development side, whilst Andover New Street Swifts have joined from the Andover & District League but Westbury United Reserves have departed to return to the Trowbridge & District League.

There will be 12 clubs that have entered the U18 floodlight league, which will run two regionalised divisions, and, after five clubs expressed an interest in forming an U21 division, the Wiltshire League is happy to create that competition if they receive a minimum of six entries.

On Wednesday, the league announced the winners of their post-season awards at their AGM, with FC Chippenham Youth’s Peter Jeffries picking up the best secretary award and Oderico Rossi, from Melksham, winning the referee appreciation award.

Sarum Youth were awarded the EC Mills Trophy and £200 of prize money for being the most sporting club last season.
