LAST season’s battle to beat the drop has not dampened Adrian Foster’s spirits that Frome Town can be amongst the front runners in Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division in 2015-16.

The Robins only secured their survival on the final day last season, having being plagued by a series of injuries and suspensions throughout the campaign.

However, Foster has overseen a recruitment drive over the summer to ensure his outfit are in a much better position this time around and the manager has set his sights on challenging at the right end of the table this campaign.

“We go into every game with the aim of winning, so if you do that you should look to win the league,” said Foster. “It doesn’t matter how you did last season.

“I believe that when we have a fully fit squad of players we will have a very good team out on the pitch so we have to aim as high as possible.

“We look strong going forward, we look like we have a lot of goals in us.

“We just need to make sure we have it sorted at the back as well.

“We’ve brought in some good players over the summer.

“Injuries and suspensions were a problem for us last season so we needed to get a few bodies in as we don’t want to get caught short again.

“We need people who will work hard for the team and that’s what we’ve found.

“We’ve signed a couple of guys from Larkhall Athletic.

“Unfortunately Tyler Sibbick is away until the end of August, which is a shame but he will get a lot of goals and be a big players of us.

“And Joe Tumelty and Rob Hobbs have also looked really good alongside Jon Vance in midfield.”

Frome kick off the campaign at Slough Town, although injuries have already struck again in pre-season and Foster admits he will have to shuffle his pack this weekend.

“The big concern is that we have got three central defenders out.

“It’s frustrating we can’t start the year with everyone fit and available, I might have to move things about,” said Foster.

“We have worked hard in pre-season.

“We’ve had Paul Ryman come in to work with the players and they are all raring to go now.”
