WARMINSTER Town maintained their perfect start to the new Toolstation League First Division season with victory at county rivals Chippenham Park on Tuesday night.

Derek Graham and Andy Crabtree’s men have flown out of the blocks in the embryonic stages of the campaign, racking up three wins from as many outings.

Following on from their 2-1 win over Ashton & Backwell United on August 8 and Saturday’s triumph by the same scoreline at Hengrove Athletic, Warminster struck twice without reply at Hardenhuish Park.

Henry McFerran, Jack Miluk and Alex Lapham all combined to set up Louis Sparey against Park but he headed just past the far post.

Debutant defender Dan Price, who has made the switch from Bradford Town, shot just over the bar against his old team before full-back Dan Wilkins found Sparey in the 20th minute and he crossed to Charlie Walton, who turned and cracked an effort home to open the scoring.

Five minutes later, George Butler and Sparey combined to tee up midfielder Lapham, who placed the ball into the top left-hand corner to make it 2-0.

“The second half was a stalemate but we were really disciplined and showed how to defend a two-goal lead,” said Graham.

“Josh Brigham marshalled the defence and we thoroughly deserved to come home with a clean sheet. The only bad point was that Alex Lapham hobbled off after being fouled from behind.

"Thanks to Bradford manager Paul Shanley too for waiving the seven days and allowing Dan Price to sign for us."

On Saturday, Warminster recovered from seeing goalkeeper Scott Lewis sustain a hand injury 30 minutes before kick-off to win at Hengrove.

Carl Crabtree came in between the stick but the home side carved out an early lead.

But when Hengrove's Carl White handled in the area, Brigham notched from the spot to level the scores before Tom Welch's corner was headed in by Lapham in the 90th minute.
