Last season's beaten Wiltshire Junior Cup finalists Freshford United had their first outing in this year's competition.

A home tie against first division stablemates Semington Magpies was certain to guarantee the Trowbridge League at least one quarter-final representative and it was Freshford who kept their cup dreams alive after an 8-0 win saw them cruise through to the next round.

Jason Povey and Theo Sing scored two apiece. Dean Ranger, Dave Percival, Steve Roddy and a first goal for the club from Frankie Elliott made up the winners' eight. Sing with two assists and Povey with three were the Star men for Chris Birleson’s side.

Swindon Premier league leaders Tawny Owl, who had already disposed of White Horse FC in the previous round, visited Castle Combe and a 6-3 victory saw them claim a second successive Trowbridge League scalp.

Combe who were 2-1 up the break were unable to build on their promising first 45 minutes as they were out gunned in the second half. Quennan Tarawali scored twice and Mark Bolton scored from the penalty spot for Combe.

Hilperton United had home advantage for their Junior Cup clash with Salisbury League outfit South Newton & Wishford and the villagers made the most of it and thanks to a 5-3 success took their place in the last eight.

Tom Blackman may have given Hilperton the lead but they trailed 2-1 before Blackman scored his second of the afternoon to level things up before half time.

After the break, goals from Ben Smith and Bradley King-Taylor put Hilperton 4-2 in front, South Newton added a third before Chris Foley thundered home a 35 yarder to seal Hilperton’s win.

Luxol St Andrews were on the road at Stockton & Codford for their Junior Cup encounter and they had the worst possible build up as they lost key players Zack Manna, Shavon Allen and Rafal Korbik in the week leading up to the game.

Luxol gave it their best shot but were on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline. Stockton led 2-0 at the break and added another early in the second half before Tom Wade and Adam Potter got Luxol back in the tie, but their goals were in vain as a fourth from the hosts booked their place in the last eight.
