CORSHAM Town assistant manager Ant Brown reckoned that his troops looked a team rejuvenated during their draw with fellow high-flyers Hengrove Athletic on Wednesday night.

Corsham’s last victory came just over a month ago, but during their 1-1 stalemate with Hengrove, who went top of the table with a point at the Southbank, Brown thought that his team looked to have rediscovered their hunger.

Levi Cox restored parity from the penalty spot in the first half, dusting himself down after being felled in the box to cancel out Jack Fillingham’s opener. The visitors ended the evening with ten men as Asa White was shown a straight red for taking down Cox, with the Athletic man adjudged to have denied a goalscoring opportunity.

“I know that we’ve not won since the game against Purton but Wednesday was the first time that we looked to have our hunger and desire back,” said Brown.

“They started the game well but the character we showed after the first 20 minutes was brilliant.

“At the end of the game, from speaking to the other side, you could tell how happy they were to come away with a point and it was a fair result.”
