WITH one win apiece from their two meetings this season, The Stiffs were looking for a first Division Two league success this term.

They hosted a Zeals side, who they had already beaten 5-2 in the A&B Cup, but thanks to a 3-2 win it was Zeals who took the spoils to complete a league double over Ade Giles side.

Steve Lewin gave Stiffs the lead only for Aaron Carter to restore parity.

A second from Aaron Carter made it 2-1 at the interval, it was 3-1 shortly after the restart with Matt Carter adding the third for Zeals.

Stiffs hit back immediately with Lewin scoring his second of the game but it wasn’t enough as Zeals saw out the remainder of the game to bag their third win of the season.

AFC Bradley ended a three-match losing run with a 7-1 success over basement side Aces Reserves who held their own for the opening 30 minutes, and only trailed 1-0 at the break before the floodgates opened in the second half and Bradley found their scoring boots.

Steve Jackson made the all-important breakthrough for Bradley after being set up by Dan Mercer.

Bradley doubled their lead when goalkeeper Will Bayley scored from a goal kick, Andy Rhead scored from the penalty spot to reduce the arrears for Aces before Mike Ritson fired into the top corner to put Bradley 3-1 up.

Steve Jackson headed home his second of the afternoon before substitute Matt Rusling came off the bench to smash one in off the bar from 25 yards for 5-1.

A close-range finish from Dan Mercer took it to 6-1 and the scoring was completed by Will Browning whose diving header saw it finish 7-1 in favour of Bradley.

Krzysztof Kopacz scored a goal in each half for United FC at home to Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves but they were in vain as United suffered an 11-2 mauling at the hands of a red-hot Wanderers side who made the most of the conditions at a wind swept Clarendon.

Mark Maguire had a red-letter day for Wanderers as he scored three goals in each half to claim a six-timer, a first goal for the club from Jamie Dennison added to Maguire’s treble gave them a 4-1 interval lead.

After the break it was nearly all one way as Ashley Styles, Sean Brereton, Duncan Frew with two and Maguire with three more completed the rout.
