TWO upsets in the space of a week proved a bridge too far for Warminster Town as they were edged out at promotion-chasing Keynsham Town on Tuesday night.
Andy Crabtree’s men were unable to turn the table on its head as they were beaten 1-0 at Crown Field but their defeat came just three days after they ended Hengrove Athletic’s fine form.
Hengrove arrived at Weymouth Street on Saturday off the back of seven straight victories in the Toolstation League First Division but the hosts took the lead when Louis Sparey’s corner kick found its way into the net off the far post.
Hengrove levelled matters seven minutes after the break through James Dunn's header but Warminster broke on the counter-attack and Sparey slotted away his second of the afternoon to seal a fine three points.
