BRADFORD Town manager Paul Shanley said his side’s performance warranted more as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Sherborne Town on Wednesday night.

Having picked up a 4-0 win against Clevedon last Saturday, Bradford were looking to keep their momentum going with one eye on their Les Philips Cup quarter-final with Willand Rovers.

However, having fallen behind, the game hinged on a penalty decision that was converted by Sam Jordan.

“I thought we played better than we did Saturday,” said Shanley.

“We were unfortunate to concede midway through the first half when we were on top.

“We managed to get on level terms and if we were three or four up at half time it would have been a fair reflection.

“The referee had a decision to make when Neikell (Plummer) has gone clean through and got a penalty but he has refused to send the lad off when he was blatantly the last man.

“However, we had enough chances to win the game and we got punished in the second half.”
