DEVIZES Town and Chippenham Park shared the spoils on the opening day of the season on Saturday after drawing 3-3 in the Toolstation League First Division.

Devizes’ goals came from Robbie Whyte, Tom Slater and Jordan Matthews, while Jamie Norman, Jordan Coulter and Ryan Tyrell got the goals for Chippenham Park.

Elsewhere, Westbury United were able to get a narrow 1-0 win over away at Almondsbury UWE.

Malmesbury Victoria were unable to start their new life in the division with a victory – the Vics fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Roman Glass St George.

Warminster Town suffered a 2-0 defeat at home when Calne Town came to visit, Josh Legg getting a debut goal and Mark Dolman scoring the other from the spot.

Both Mike Martin and Dave Flanagan doubled up in Pewsey’s 4-2 home win over Alton Town in the Sydenhams Football League Division One.

Meanwhile, Melksham Town and Bradford Town were both knocked out of the FA Cup.

Darren Perrin’s Melksham fell short as they were beaten 2-1 at United Services Portsmouth, their goal coming courtesy of Luke Ballinger, while Bradford also exited at the Extra Preliminary Round stage as they were beaten 3-1 at home at Fareham Town, despite Dan Cottle’s opener in the 18th minute.
