TEE Majoni rifled home six goals as Beversbrook recorded their first win since returning to the Wiltshire League.

Lee Ashby’s side, back in the league since finishing bottom of the table in the 2012-13 campaign, had only picked up one point in their seven matches prior to Saturday’s visit of Malmesbury Victoria Development.

“We basically had to start from scratch again. From pre-season and first 6-7 games, I’ve had to get rid of a lot of dead wood at the club, but also some unreliable and uncommitted lads too,” Ashby said.

“I have brought in eight new players over the last few games. It has been hard to get up to speed, but we’ve worked hard at training and a great result had been coming.”

Beversbrook took the lead in the third minute through Marc Connelly and doubled their advantage a minute later courtesy of a goal from Darren Mobey.

Connelly bagged his second in the 15th minute before Leonard Khan grabbed Beversbrook’s fourth just before the half-hour mark.

Majoni bagged the first of his double-hat-trick in the 38th minute and netted again on the stroke of half-time to make it 6-2 at the break.

Beversbrook had to wait until the 62nd minute to add to their tally but then Majoni netted four times in 18 minutes to add to Malmesbury’s woes before Wayne Welsh and Jake Bailey sealed the 12-2 rout.

Cricklade Town maintained their grip on top spot with a 6-1 thrashing of Pewsey Vale Development.

Dave Coleman netted a brace for Luke Alford’s side, Leigh Brown and Gio Wrona were also on target, while Ross Peart and John Rees came off the bench to complete the half dozen.

Wroughton remain hot on Cricklade’s heels following their 1-0 win over Melksham Town Reserves, while Royal Wootton Bassett Reserves stay third despite being held at home to a goalless draw with Ludgershall Sports, however, Marlborough Town moved within a point of them after their 3-1 success over Wilts Calne Town.

Newcomers Bromham defeated reigning champions Trowbridge Town 3-1, while Corsham Town Reserves edged out Shrewton United 3-2.
