Last term's Division One runners up, Warminster Town Reserves welcomed second-placed Hilperton United to their Weymouth Street ground and for a fourth straight league match it was the hosts who claimed the spoils, courtesy of a thrilling 7-5 victory.

A first-half treble from Matt Dyer and a goal each for Greg Richardson and Ali Rose gave Warminster a 5-3 half-time lead, Bradley King-Taylor, Chris Foley and Ben Smith replying for Hilperton who were 4-1 down at one point.

Dyer took his tally to four as Warminster opened up a 6-3 lead, but goals from Sam Stevens and Kieran Fereday got Hilperton to within one goal before Greg Richardson killed off any hopes of an incredible revival as his second of the afternoon saw Warminster to their 7-5 success.

Freshford United may have lost their opening match of the season to Luxol St Andrews, but since then Chris Birleson’s side have netted 21 goals in three games.

At home to Westbury United Reserves they were expected to run riot once again but were made to battle to a narrow 3-2 success that saw the former champions hanging on at the finish.

Dave Percival’s penalty for Freshford separated the sides at the break and Percival then added his second before Marc Scammell cut the deficit for Westbury.

Percival scored his and Freshford third, however Westbury then pulled a second back via Brandon Thompson to set up a thrilling finish that saw the hosts happy to hear the final whistle.

Dave Jenkins saw his Melksham Town A side stretch their unbeaten start to four matches, thanks to an 8-0 success at Heytesbury, who remain bottom of the pile and still looking to secure a first point of the new campaign.

Had it not been for the heroics of the villagers' keeper Sam Spratt, who was outstanding despite conceding eight, Melksham could well have netted twice as many as they did.

Nick Ridout led the scoring with a hat-trick, Luke Turvey claimed a brace and Paul Gittins, Graham Griffiths and Zach Hillier from the penalty spot shared the others.

Stockton & Codford remain unbeaten at top of the table following their 4-1 win on the road at Potterne, whose defeat leaves them with no win from their three games to date.

Jason Povey scored both of Stockton’s first-half goals and player-manager Jayson Stokes put them 3-0 ahead in the second half before Jamie Ridout put through his own net to hand Potterne their consolation.

Stockton completed the win when Povey bagged his third of the afternoon.
