A TRIO of goals was enough for Warminster Town as they recorded their second win in a row away to Portishead Town.

Francois Allen, Jack Miluk and Eben Mortimer-Taylor were all on target for Mark Breffit’s team who registered a 3-1 win.

The win came just a week after Warminster’s 2-0 away triumph over Welton Rovers, in which Allen scored both goals.

As well as the two successive wins, Breffit’s men are now also unbeaten in four games, due to them drawing their two previous fixtures.

Manager Breffit is delighted with how his team have turned their form around after they only winning two of their opening 11 games.

“It was all done and dusted in the first 20 minutes when we went 3-1 up and we could have gone 4-1 up and in the second half we managed the game,” he said “It was a good performance; it’s two in a row, four games unbeaten and eight points from a possible 12.

“The last four have been really good. I said it would take a while for the lads to get going and see what they’re doing.

“They’ve showed that we are getting there, really. They’ve taken it all on board and closed the gap on all the teams now. Hopefully we can keep doing what we are doing and picking up points.”

Elsewhere, Calne Town were beaten 2-1 at home by Almondsbury UWE. Goals from Jordan Davies and Joe Weare were just about enough to earn them all three points, despite a late Aaron Hopkins goal.

Devizes Town also fell to a defeat at home as they entertained Bishops Lydeard and have a right to be feel frustrated as they missed a penalty as well as other chances.

But it was the visitors who went into the break 3-0 up and then saw out the second half to claim a 4-1 win as Jordan Matthews' goal was only a consolation.

Sam Brereton’s goal wasn’t enough to prevent Westbury from slipping to second consecutive home defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by Radstock Town.

Corsham Town also failed to make the most of their home advantage as they were beaten 4-3 by Bishop Sutton at the Southbank.
