WESTBURY United moved further up the Toolstation League First Division table this week following their 3-0 win over Chippenham Park.

The visitors took the lead early on when Jamie Jordan found the net in the 16th minute, much to the delight of manager James Goddard.

A further 15 minutes into the game they had doubled their advantage when Daniel Price added his name to the scoresheet.

The second half was a tighter affair as neither side could find a goal. Westbury were more than happy with their two-goal lead, while seeking the third would kill the game off as a contest.

Goddard then got his wish as substitute Nathan Hallet-Young grabbed a 90th-minute goal after being on the pitch for four minutes to seal the win.

“We started the game really well with the tempo and aggression we had been missing from our game,” said the Westbury boss.

“We’ve had two back to back 3-0 wins and I think that is down to the tempo that we are playing with and we have finally got everyone back and fit.

“It’s making a real difference, we have our strongest squad back together and getting them on the field is important for us.

“We didn’t have the greatest of months in October, but by our standards we have started the season really well.

“We just need to try and kick on again, we have a difficult game coming up against Cheddar but hopefully we can put a couple of wins together.”

Sadly for Warminster they were unable to get all three point in their weekend game at home to Keynsham Town.

The visitors broke the deadlock and carried the lead through to the halfway stage, when Patrick Davidson netted the opener in the 28th minute.

Samuel Duggan then got the all important second for the visitors with 20 minutes left to play, meaning Thomas Welch’s goal was nothing more than a consolation.

Corsham Town suffered the heaviest defeat out of the three local sides, as they were thumped 5-1 at home by Radstock Town.

The visitors raced into a strong position early on as they were 4-1 up going into the interval, with Ben Pring getting the only goal for Corsham, as Radstock added a fifth in the second half.
